Join a motocross team: who the MX team is for

The MX-Academy's motocross team is aimed at everyone who does not just want to try riding technique once, but wants to learn it regularly and in a more targeted way. Continuous training also makes advanced techniques possible. Plans within the team vary widely, but the common goal always stays the same: improving your own riding technique. If you ride more cleanly, you simply have more options on the track – and that makes motocross even more enjoyable.

  • You want to go motocross racing and learn the techniques you need for it
  • You want to support your child so that they progress in motocross
  • You are a hobby rider or beginner and want to go motocross riding or dirt bike riding regularly
  • You ride enduro and want to keep even a heavy bike under control in any situation without tiring quickly

Technique instead of risk: how the MX team trains

In the team, one simple principle applies: you only become faster and safer through better technique. Speed cannot be increased permanently with strength or a willingness to take risks – sooner or later that ends in a crash. The higher the speed, the less time you have to react and the more precisely you have to act. Your riding technique should therefore always be above the demands of the track, whether in enduro or in a race.

Training is individual and in groups, so that every rider is challenged appropriately. The basis is a training plan for riding technique, structured in several stages and levels and supported by the MX-Academy's experienced pros. Anyone who wants to race prepares in the team with race training sessions. Members also get access to exclusive training courses.

Into the motocross team on your own bike or a rental bike

Your own bike or a complete set of gear is not a requirement for the team. If you bring your own motorcycle, you are welcome with any make. Without your own motorcycle, you save yourself a lot: anyone who owns a motocross bike needs a fully equipped workshop, a trailer or van for transport and a stock of spare and wear parts. The team's service takes this effort off your hands, and you benefit from many years of experience with motocross motorcycles.

As a team member, you can buy a motocross bike in the MX-Academy's motocross shop on special terms and receive discounts on further equipment in the motocross shop and the enduro shop. You can also get a team shirt with your own name and your own back number. You receive the team clothing at your first team event.

Joining the MX team and motocross sponsorship

To register or apply, send your first name, surname, street and house number, postcode and town, email address and your mobile number to info@mx-academy.ch. Once the team fee has been paid, the team adds you to the group. From then on, all team training sessions for motocross and enduro are open to you.

The MX-Academy offers motocross sponsorship through its motocross shop, for riders from Switzerland as well as from Germany. If you are interested, apply by email with your contact details and the following information – on this basis you will then receive a sponsorship offer:

  • Goals and classes for the next season
  • Motorcycle and protective gear you need
  • Track record with your previous successes
  • Possible advertising space such as van, motorcycle or car
  • Social media and your own website

Joining the motocross team from Germany: getting here and getting started

The team trains in Schlatt TG; as with every course, the starting point is the shop at Hauptstrasse 8. From Singen it is about a 30-minute drive, from Tuttlingen about 55 minutes, from Villingen-Schwenningen or Rottweil about 1 hour, from Freiburg about 1 hr 40 min and from Stuttgart about 2 hours. From Vorarlberg, it is about 1 hr 35 min from Bregenz.

If you have never ridden motocross before, a day course is a good way in before joining the team. On Wednesday you have 3.5 hours, on Saturday 4 hours of track time, including breaks and instruction. Including a rental bike, protective gear and coaching, the course starts at €390 (CHF 360). With your own gear it is from €163 (CHF 150), provided you already ride on your own; as a newcomer you add the extra coaching for €54 (CHF 50). All prices are non-binding and subject to change at any time.
