Official Honda outlet: the Honda Motoshop at the course meeting point

At the meeting point for all courses, Hauptstrasse 8 in 8252 Schlatt TG, the MX-Academy runs its Honda Motoshop. It is the official Honda outlet for German-speaking Switzerland and Zurich and at the same time an off-road specialist. Behind the shop are the MX-Academy's 30 years of off-road experience, and its own off-road school has been riding Hondas for a decade.

In the Honda shop you get advice, bikes, gear, servicing and tuning from a single source. If you come for a course, you can see the models right there on site. The team answers questions about a particular bike, sizes or current stock directly in the shop; in writing you can reach them at info@mx-academy.ch.

Honda motocross bikes from CRF50F to CRF450R

The Honda motocross range covers every body size. The entry point for the youngest riders is the CRF50F and CRF110F. One size up comes the CRF125F, also available as a Big Wheel, designed for children and teenagers. Adults will find the CRF250R and the CRF450R, both also available as an HRC Works Edition. The Honda Motoshop has new bikes, used bikes and kids' bikes. The used ones change constantly, so it is best to ask directly about the latest arrivals.

The F in the model name stands for Family. These versions, such as the CRF50F, CRF110F, CRF125F or CRF250F, are of modern design, with electric start and fuel injection from the CRF110F upwards, as well as quiet and environmentally friendly, made for off-road beginners. An R in the name, on the other hand, marks Racing models built for competition. That is why the MX-Academy recommends an F version as a beginner bike.

Ride on a course first, then decide in the Honda shop

Before you buy a motocross bike from Honda, it is best to ride it first. On the MX-Academy courses, Honda CRFs are available to rent: children choose from five sizes, starting with the CRF50 and ending with the CRF150, while teenagers and adults get on the CRF250. That way you feel on the track which size and how much power suit you, without first putting money into a bike of your own.

A day course is particularly suitable for this: on Wednesday you have 3.5 hours and on Saturday 4 hours of track time, including breaks and instruction from the coaches. For Wednesday with rental bike, protective gear and coaching, expect €390 (CHF 360), non-binding. You don't need a driving licence for this, because the courses take place on private grounds.

Servicing, tuning and motocross equipment at the Honda Motoshop

In the Honda shop, bikes are repaired and serviced, and the team also tunes suspension and engines. Because the MX-Academy also looks after racing equipment, it can draw on a wealth of experience and proven modifications for Honda tuning. The shop also supports Honda racers who want to do advertising and bring suitable opportunities for it with tailor-made sponsorship.

The range also includes motocross equipment and accessories, from helmets and motocross goggles to protector jackets and knee pads, some new, some used and in various price ranges. You can also browse and order motocross products in the online shop. If you don't have your own gear before your first course, you don't need to buy anything: rental gear is available from children's sizes to XXL.

Honda shop for riders from Germany and Austria

Besides eastern Switzerland and the Zurich area, the Honda Motoshop's catchment area also includes the Lake Constance region and southern Germany. From Singen the drive takes around 30 minutes, from Konstanz around 45, from Tuttlingen around 55 minutes and from Friedrichshafen around 1 hr 15 min. From Austria it is around 1 hr 35 min from Bregenz and around 1 hr 40 min from Feldkirch.

Combining it with a course day is practical: first you test the Honda CRF on the track, then you get advice in the shop. If you would like a binding quote for a bike or for gear, state the model, size and intended use in a message to info@mx-academy.ch.
