Hauptstrasse 8 · 8252 Schlatt TG
Directions to the MX-Academy always lead you first to the MX-Academy shop at Hauptstrasse 8 in 8252 Schlatt TG, because that is where every course starts. Here you'll find the sat nav address, driving times from Germany and Austria and the route by bus 847.

Enter the address of the MX-Academy shop into your sat nav: Hauptstrasse 8, 8252 Schlatt TG, Switzerland. Schlatt TG is in the canton of Thurgau, north-north-east of Zurich. Every course starts there: first you check in, then you receive your gear and attend the detailed theory session before the coaches take you out onto the track.
The motocross track itself is in the Gishalde area, around 0.9 km from the shop as the crow flies. So don't drive straight to the track; always go to the shop first, because that is where the course day begins. If you are coming by bus, “Schlatt TG, Mettschlatt” is your stop; from there it is only around 70 m on foot to the shop.
The following driving times come from the OSRM route planner (OpenStreetMap). They are calculated without traffic or waiting times, so allow a little extra. From the Singen and Konstanz area you are here in no time; from Stuttgart, Ulm or Karlsruhe you need around two to two and a half hours, and from Munich or Frankfurt considerably longer.
From Vorarlberg, the drive to Schlatt TG takes around 1 hr 35 min (114 km) from Bregenz and around 1 hr 40 min (126 km) from Feldkirch. From Innsbruck it is around 3 hrs 30 min for 281 km. For the journey from Kempten in the Allgäu, allow around 2 hrs 25 min.
From North Rhine-Westphalia, Hamburg or Berlin the journey is long: around 5 hrs 20 min from Cologne, around 5 hrs 40 min from Düsseldorf, around 8 hrs 10 min from Berlin and around 8 hrs 15 min from Hamburg. For these distances the Saturday course is a good fit, arriving the day before if you like. A course with only 1 hour on the track is hardly worth such a long trip.
If you travel a long way, you should make the most of the whole day. On the day course you have 3.5 hours on the track on Wednesday and 4 hours on Saturday, including breaks and instruction. Because motocross is an anaerobic sport, you need lots of breaks, and the coaches use them for tips and tricks. With check-in, the theory session and kitting out, you spend 6 to 8 hours in Schlatt TG all in all.
Including rental bike, protective gear and coaching, Wednesday costs €390 (CHF 360), Saturday €444 (CHF 410) and Saturday with catering €471 (CHF 435). All prices are non-binding and subject to change. And if you are looking for motocross nearby: from Singen you are here in around half an hour, from Konstanz in around 45 minutes.
Getting here is easy even without a car: you reach the shop on bus 847 to the “Schlatt TG, Mettschlatt” stop. The bus runs from Diessenhofen, which you reach on the S1 from Schaffhausen, and from Marthalen, served by the S33 from Winterthur. From Zurich HB the journey takes around 1 hr 03 min via Winterthur and around 1 hr 11 min via Schaffhausen.
Timetables change, so check your connection in the SBB timetable before you set off. You hardly need any luggage: long trousers and sturdy shoes are enough. Everything else, from the motorcycle to helmet and goggles, boots, gloves, chest protector and knee guards, is available to rent on the course.
